About this wine

Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino is a refined Tuscan red, offering complex aromas of balsamic menthol, cloves, and ripe cherries. Layers of plum, date, and cinnamon unfold on a silky palate, supported by gentle tannins and refreshing acidity. Hints of vanilla and violets linger on the elegant finish, showcasing classic Sangiovese character. A superb match for slow-cooked lamb, rich pasta dishes, or aged cheeses.

Producer: Pian delle Vigne

Acquired by the Marchesi Antinori family in 1995, the Pian Delle Vigne estate is located 6km to the South of the town of Montalcino and consists of 184 hectares of land of which 65 are planted with vines and the remainder with olive groves and woodland. The stony, clay and limestone soils are planted entirely too various Sangiovese clones on elevations between 180 and 250 metres above sea level. Two stunning wines are produced at the estate the Pian Delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and the Pian Delle Vigne Vigna Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, beautifully rich, balanced wines, true to their terroir and superb drinking.

Food pairing suggestions

Enjoy it best with pork dishes like roast pork, tenderloin, and pork chops. Smoked meats, blue cheese, mushrooms, onion, garlic, tomato, capsicum, and aromatic spices like anise, turmeric, saffron, fennel, and ginger bring out its richness.

It also pairs well with grilled or barbecued lamb, roasted chicken or duck, and cured meats such as salami and prosciutto. Creamy cheeses like brie and camembert, pasta, beans, peas, black pepper, fresh herbs, potatoes, and crusty bread complement the wine perfectly.
